TPS40210: When Vin>Vo

Part Number: TPS40210

Dear Team,

The customer would like to change the Vout to 46V.

The Vin is from PoE's PD, so Vin range will be 37~57V.

May I know what will happen when Vin> Vo?

Can the system bypass the Vin to Vo when Vin>Vo?

BR

Kevin

  • Hello Kuan,

The input voltage will automatically pass to the output voltage through the inductor and diode if it is higher than the losses in them.

The converter is not able to stop VIN to VOUT for VIN > VOUT + (drops in L and D).
