TPS65911: About output capacitor(C101) in the K2GEVM

Hi Team,

We understand that recommended capacitance is 330uF_6.3V of Electrolytic capacitor for C101.

However, we would like to use 220uF of low ESR Chemical capacitor(EMZR6R3ARA221ME61G).

Could you please let us know if you have any concern?

Hi, Hide,

My concern is the lower capacitance (although the actual difference is less than 110uF since lower ESR) can cause higher ripple to the power rail; if the ripple is too high to over the limit of the power rial spec, and then the system could be unstable.

Thank you for your prompt reply and advice.

I understand that I can use low ESR Chemical capacitor, but a recommended value of the capacitance is 330uF.

Is my understanding correct?
