Hi team,

my customer wants to use the TPS2663 for 48V application, but we also need the open-load detection feature. Do we have some methods to achieve the open load detection? Thanks.

Hi Frank,

Overcurrent detection can be done by connecting IMON to PGTH and PGOOD as assert flag, it is discussed in Figure 77 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps25940-q1.pdf But light load detection is not possible in a easy way.

You can consider devices from high-side switch portfolio or INA solution for open-load detection.
