BQ25895: BQ25895 input selection for USB or Solar

Hi all,

I want to use BQ25895 with both solar and usb input.
I'm going to mppt with an IC for Solar. But as soon as I plug in the USB, I want this mppt to be disabled and charge it from normal usb.

To do this, when I plug in the USB, I detect the D+, D-pins and set it to AUTO_DPDM_EN 1. Can I disable the mppt and charge with usb?

because I saw an example like this: I2c.write(BQ25895, 0x02, B11111111)

I share a simple scheme.

Can you help with this?

Hi Ning,

I know I need to check TIDA-01556 for mppt.

I don't understand how I can disable mppt when I plug in usb. When usb plug in, usb should be a priority.

Can a method like the first picture work?

Mehmet,

Referring to Figure 2. MPPT Algorithm Flow Diagram in TIDA-01556 document, the MPP does not start until power good (PG_STAT bit is set). For BQ25895, PG_STAT bit is set after input source type detection. Please refer to 8.2.3.3 Input Source Type Detection on the BQ25895 d/s for the details.
