The datasheet just says use 100nF ceramic. Though could a 2.2uF be used without any adverse side-effects ? I am just looking to reduce the parts used on my board as 2.2uF is used in a few other places.

Hi,
I didn't check so big boot cap and I checked some parts with 1uf works well, big Cboot will cause long time to charge it to enough Voltage, which make BST-SW voltage high enough to turn on high mos. so I recommend to keep 100nf or <1uf selection.
