BQ24630: Battery is not charging and I am getting a "XDSG" flag.

I am not sure where to begin.  My unit has a 12.8VDC battery pack that is not charging.  When I take the battery out and attach it to a bench power supply it will charge.  That leads me to think the problem is on the board..  Also, I have a MSP430 with bq evaluation software.  Can I use the software to put the BQ2460 in a test state and probe around to find the cause?

    Hi John,

       First step would be to debug if there are any fault conditions. Check status of STAT1 and STAT2 and then double check that all the fault conditions from table 2. of the datasheet are satisfied or not. Is the XDSG fault shown by your gauge? I can help answer questions regarding the BQ24630.
