BQ24616EVM: Never stop charging battery, Stat1 start Blinking

   Can you take a scope capture of SRN, PH, charge current and STAT1? What is your termination current set to?

   Can you set the termination current to a lower value or disable termination and re-test to see if you still have STAT blinking? I can't see the reference in SRN, is the charger hitting your charge regulation setting, set by external resistor divider at VFB, and then falling slightly lower?

Thanks for quick replay, I change ISat2 to 0.03V which make ITerm to 0.0006 but still, stat1 is blinking and you can see the input current is toggling on and off.

    Can you answer the following:

• What voltage value is SRN toggling between?
• Max charge regulation voltage is set to 15.2V through resistor divider at VFB?
• In the PH waveform above, can you measure the time during which PH is switching?
• Do you have long cable between battery and and output terminal of EVM?
• Can you disable termination by using the TTC jumper on EVM and connecting it to LOW and test?

Below is the answer to your questions:

1. SRN was toggling between 16.86 and 17.80.

2.  Battery Charge Voltage set 15.2 by R1 = 1K and R2 = 7K

3. Around 1.625 Second

4. No , battery cable is very short, around 4-5inches.

6. When I connect TTC to Low, Stat1 stop toggling and input current change to 0.029A, but stat2 did not turn on

Hi Amir,

From your description, it looks like you have a multimeter in series with the battery. Please disconnect the multimeter and check again. The impedance between the charger BAT pin and the battery terminal can cause the termination and recharge back and forth.
