TPS546D24A: TPS546D24A Fixed frequency synchronous buck converter 2-phase evaluation module

Part Number: TPS546D24A

Hi Texas Instruments Customer Support

Thank you for your support, I have some questions for TPS546D24A, thanks.

Fixed frequency synchronous buck converter 2-phase evaluation module

www.ti.com/.../TPS546D24AEVM

1. This Module can I set to 1 phase voltage out?

2. 1 phase must be only U1_P1 Master? Can I set to U1_P2 Slave?

Regards

Richard

  • Will forward to expert to check this question, thanks.

  • Hi

Please use this instruction to convert the 2-phase board into a single phase board

    1)      You need to depopulate the 0-ohm resistor between the Master and Slave devices VSHARE pins

    1. a.       R15_P1 or R15_P2

    2)      You need to populate a 0-ohm resistor between the Master device’s MSEL2 pin and AGND

    1. a.       R18_P1

At that point, the Master device will boot up in single-phase mode and will not attempt to communicate with the slave

The Slave device will boot up and wait for instructions from the Master via BCX.  It will hold its VSHARE pin low, but with R15_P1 or R15_P2 removed, that will not affect the master device.

    Regards,

    Gerold
