At POR (power-on reset), the ChargeVoltage() and ChargeCurrent() registers are both set to zero. Therefore, the BQ24725 will not start charging on its own. The host MCU must write to the ChargeVoltage() and ChargeCurrent() registers before the BQ24725 can begin charging the battery.
