bidirectional low-side MOSFET overload protection

Hi Team,

My customer is looking for a DCDC device that supports bidirectional low-side MOSFET overload protection.
The basic requirement is the following.

Vin: 12V
Vout: 3.3V
Iout: 2~3A

I found TPS54320 however the device is a little high cost.
Could you tell me lower cost device if there is?

Suggest TPS563201(ECO-mode) or TPS563208(FCCM) for you.

Does TPS563201/8 support bidirectional low-side MOSFET overload protection?
I couldn't catch it in the datasheet.

Hi, Yaita-san

TPS563201 is Eco-mode, there is reverse current during working, so there is no need reverse current limit for this part.

TPS563208 is FCCM, it has about -1.5A reverse current limit, and positive 4.2A current limit.

Regarding TPS563208, does the datasheet shows reverse current limit -1.5A?
I can't find the the spec.

Hi Yaita,

TPS563208 doesn't show NOC value in datasheet EC table. but this part does have NOC protection.

What's the EE? Why do you need bi-directional low side protection?

here i suggest to use TPS54308 which is a 28V 3A part.

Hi Edwin-san,

Thank you for your kind support. I understand.

The application is for Amusement Equipment in Japan and devices that can be suggested is restricted.
I believe the device that supports Eco-mode can be used so I will suggest TPS54xxx with Eco-mode.

I will contact again if we need your further support.
