I am designing BMS using bq77905 IC for different current ratings

but I am confused about MOSFET which MOSFET I should use

can you suggest the MOSFET which will be suitable for this IC for below rating

36v/10s/40a

36v/10s/60a

36v/10s/80a

36v/10s/100a

or else any MOSFET I can use which will able to handle above the current ratings??

If not then please tell me MOSFET gate voltage range, So that I can use any MOSFET according to the gate voltage range

Hi,

The MOSFET we recommend, and use on our EVM, is the CSD18534Q5A.

sir, this MOSFET (CSD18534Q5A.) can handle 50a current

what if I need for 100a current rating

and also I read the datasheet of this MOSFET, can I use any MOSFET which threshold(Vgs) is in between 0 to 5v or I have to use only those MOSFET which threshold voltage will be 1.9v

please suggest

Hi,

I am only the expert on the battery chips, for MOSFET selection please use this page: https://www.ti.com/power-management/mosfets/overview.html

We suggest at least a 20V Vgs. If your stack voltage is higher than 20V, you should add additional components to protect the FET as described in section 9.1.1.4 Using Load Detect for UV Fault Recovery of the BQ77905 datasheet. I do not believe we have a requirement for the Vg(th).

based on your last reply can I make myself clear that

I should not bother about Vg(th) voltage, I can use any MOSFET in which Vg rating is at least 20V

If there are any mistakes in what I have said, kindly make it clear.
