BQ35100: Reference design for LiMnO batteries

Hello team,

My customer would like to use the device with two LiMnO or four.

Is there a reference design for below battery use case?

1. two LiMnO (Panasonic CR123A) in series

2. four LiMnO (Panasonic CR123A), two series to two parallel.

If there is no reference design, could you please provide these reference design to customer?

Hello Katsu,

The best reference design is the EVM, all the configurations can be achieved by modifying the EVM schematic.

in the case of my customer, they need to add external circuit due to two CR123A(3V) in series.

Could you please provide the additional circuit for EVM?

in addition,

Could you please provide setting parameter for four CR123A as 2 series to parallel?

Hello Katsu-san,

They should be able to derive their circuit by following the schematic on the EVM, J2 on the schematic sets the battery configuration on the EVM. By looking at the circuitry attached when the 2-4s option is selected is what they would need to do.

You will need to program the correct chemID and the parameters that are application specific, it looks like the chemID for that battery exists so it should be fairly easy to set up following the document I linked in the above post.
