Dear Sir,

my customer using the LMG3410EVM-031 for power supply application.

 

1) the output capacitor is necessary (C8~C13)?

2) Could we make the LDO5V open?

3) for the 12Vdd for GanFET. could we use one 12V to drive 2 GanFETs as shown as blow picture?

    Hello Bard,

    Thank you for contacting us. Let me try to answer your questions.

    1. C8-C13 caps are necessary as they help close the power loop. Also multiple caps are needed to filter noise at different frequencies and reduce the amount of ESR associate with the caps.

    2. For LDO5V, for the high side, it's normally used to power up the isolator. For the low side, it's used to tie the LPM to high if it's not used. Put bypass cap for LDO5V similar to the daughter card.

    3. The picture is broken. You can drive both high side and low side GaN FET with single 12V if you use the bootstrap supply for the high side as our R150 daughtercard does.
