LM8850: Processing when not using supercapacitor

Part Number: LM8850
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61253A, TPS61023

Hi,

I am considering using the LM8850 device.
The specifications are as follows.
However, there are cases where supercapacitor is not used.
Does this device work without a supercapacitor, just as a boost power supply?
If so, is the output voltage stable with only a 4.7uF output capacitor?
Also, the balance feature of supercapacitor is on by default, but if I don't use supercapacitor, can I keep the feature on? Or do I have to turn it off?
Please tell me how to handle BAL pin when not using supercapacitor.

(specification)
VIN: 3.2 to 4.3V (LIB voltage range), 5V through, USB charging voltage
VOUT: 5V
IOUT: 600mA

Best regards,
