Hi E2E,

Good day!

Using the LM2596 adjustable version, if the input voltage is lower than the set output voltage, will the input voltage be seen on the output until the input voltage reaches the set output voltage plus the required dropout?

Franz,

I would avoid reverse current from VOUT - VIN on buck converters.

If you expect VOUT to exceed VIN then I suggest a low-forward drop schottky on VIN to prevent reverse current.
