BQ25896: BQ25896 Does not wakeup

We have this BQ25896 IC charger that charges a battery pack of: 3.6V, 9AH capacity. We noticed that the charger charges the battery till it is fully charged and goes to sleep, and never wakeup again to charge the battery when it is fully discharged or halfway discharged. The only way to wake up the charger IC is to power off the system or unplug the charger and plug back again.

Any explanation why this is happening?

Hi,

Could you please provide the followings?

What are the test conditions such as VBUS, VBAT, IBAT, VSYS, ISYS when the behavior happens?
What are all the register values when the behavior happens?

Hi,

My charger is running as a standalone ( I mean it has no communication with an MCU so that I can read and write any of the registers).

VBus is 5V, and I can share the schematics in a private email.

Is there any battery protection circuitry in between BAT pin and the battery pack or does the battery have built-in battery protection?
