BQ2003: Battery charging circuit check before connecting the battery.

Hello,

I am using this charger IC to charge NIMH cells. Can you please suggest me, what provision shall i provide to test the charging circuit without connecting the battery. I have given a provision of a 2 pin jumper at CHG pin.

Hi Ajeet,

Do you mean you want to check the circuit operation without connecting the battery? Please provide more clarification of your question. A battery or a battery simulator (capable of sourcing and sinking current) is required for the normal operation of the circuit.

Hello Eric,

Yes, I want to check the charging status without connecting battery for board alignment procedure. So, according to you at least a battery simulator is required as current sink?

If possible, let me know if we can have this check without a battery or battery simulator with some passive element arrangement.
