LP5036: Connecting Two LED's parallel in a single channel

Hey Ti Support team,

We have a requirement to control slightly more number of LED's (~40 LED's) with LP5036. Is it possible to connect two LEDs in parallel to a single channel ? (We are okay to limit the brightness of the two LEDs by keeping the total channel current under limit and the we are okay with controlling two LED's with same channel pattern in LP5036). Keeping these requirement, is it possible to connect Two parallel LED's in same channel of LP5036 ?

connecting several LED in parallel to a single channel is not a good idea. You'd better use two chips.

Hi Monet Xu,

Thanks for the reply and i have changed the design to accommodate two LED drivers, LP5018 and LP5024 to mitigate the channel number requirement and of course to avoid paralleling the LED.
