Hi, team

As shown in below picture, here two questions I wondering to know:

  • What effect does the di/dt of P-MOS has on the system?
  • Why separate the battery from the adaptor?

    Hi Chester,

       If input voltage < battery voltage there is a direct path through the body diode of the HSFET where the battery can back discharge, which can damage upstream components so reverse blocking diode is always recommended, which is the purpose of Q1. On adapter insertion there can be inrush current, so slowing down turn on of Q2 with R14 C14 reduces inrush current.
