Hi, team

Here some questions about BQ24610 power path management(PPM):

What is the function of PPM in BQ24610?
Does PPM mean that the system can reach max power (Pmax=Pbat+Padapator) when system full load and adaptor present ?
Simplified system without PPM as shown in below picture. In this simplified system, can the adaptor power the system load? If it can, and how to power?

Hi Chester,

In Power Path if there is no adapter, the battery can then still supply the system load, meaning that system rail is not lost if adapter is removed. This part uses Direct powerpath, where either the adapter or battery is directly connected to the system load.
Not necessarily. In this direct powerpath architecture when adapter is connected, it can supply both Pbat and Psys, however there is no supplement mode where the battery can supply the system if adapter is overloaded. Either battery solely provides sys, or adapter provides SYS and BAT.

Chester,

In the simplified schematic, without Power Path or DPM, the system would be powered directly from the battery pack.
