BQ24193: charging safety timer restart

Part Number: BQ24193

Hello

Please let me know about charging safty timer restart trigger.

① At the beginning of a new charging cycle

→What trigger determines. Is it possible to check with the H/W pin or some kind of bit?

if ①is met, is it possible to omit ②~⑤?

②Toggle the CE pin HIGH to LOW to HIGH (charge enable)

→What happens if I start charging with LOW?

Always LOW while charging, is there something wrong?
Does it need hold time?

③Write REG01[5:4] from 00 to 01 (charge enable)

→This is read only parameter in gauge IC. Is it right?

④Write REG05[3] from 0 to 1 (safety timer enable)

   →always 0.Need to change from 0 to 1?

     Does it need hold time?

⑤ Write REG01[7] to 1 (software reset)

→This is read only parameter in gauge IC. Is it right?

  • Hi,

    1. Please refer to 8.3.3.1 Autonomous Charging Cycle for the details. Restarting safety timer does not change charging status.

    2. Please refer to 1. In order to start charge, /CE should be pulled low.

    3. Please check with Gauge datasheet.

4.If it is changed to 1, there will be no safety timer when charging.

    5. Please check with Gauge datasheet.

    Thanks,

    NIng.
