LM2585: Powerpad connection

Part Number: LM2585

Hi,

I am using the LM2585-ADJ to generate a 49V Phantom voltage from a 18V input voltage.

The current drawn is only 10mA max so power dissipation will not be significant.

Still, to keep the design as cool as possible I want to add some heat dissipating area on my PCB.

Do I need to connect the PCB area where the powerpad of the LM2585 is soldered on to a voltage or is it left floating? , GND seems the obvious choice but I cannot find any reference of that in the literature.

Can you propose what is best to do here?
