Hi,
I'm looking into a solution to charge an 8S LiFePO4 battery pack. I came across the BQ24620 and BQ24630 components but they only support up to 7 cells in series. I could not find any other component to be used for 8S LiFePO4. Is there another one which I couldn't find?
Thanks,
Gunther
Hi Gunther,
Unfortunately, TI does not currently have a single chip solution for 8S LiFePO4 charging. You might try searching TI's reference designs at https://www.ti.com/reference-designs/index.html.

Hi Gunther,
Would you mind sharing more details on the charging requirement? Thanks.
Hi Jing,
It concerns an 8S LiFePO4 20Ah battery pack which is used in an autonomous (private property) vehicle equipped with 24V BLDC motors. The BMS in front of this would be based on BQ76930 to balance the cells, protect for charge and discharge.
The charge current would be around 10A. The DC power (30V) would be supplied through a connection with a base station. All BMS and charging operations would have to be monitored and managed by the central microcontroller.
I hope this clarifies the context.
Thanks & regards,
Gunther
