Hi Kevin,

BQ24040 will not charge past 4.2 V regulation voltage. Battery charges at 15mA when under 0.8V and the user set precharge current between 0.8 V and 2.5 V.

For true OVP/UVP protection we recommend using a protector like BQ2970.
