UCC28634: Suitable devices other than ucc28634 for low standby power consumption & simulation guidelines

Part Number: UCC28634
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28730, LM5021, UCC28780, UCC28740, LM5023, TL431

Hi Team,

  My customer is looking for a flyback controller solution, which requirements list as below:

  -- Support 85~265Vac,  typical is 100V@60Hz AC input;

  -- Typical Output is 5V@13A 65W;

  -- Standby(no load) power consumption:  5V@62mA(0.31W);

  I've promoted UCC28634,  but could you kindly suggest more suitable devices?

  BTW,  the customer's end customer required support LT SPICE/ SPICE simulation model,  could you also provide guidelines for the provided devices simulation?

  Expect for your reply, thanks.

Best Regards

Benjamin

  • Hello Benjamin,

    Thank you for your interest in TI flyback controllers.

    TI has a number of possible candidates for this application. Since the UCC28634 operates on primary-side regulation (PSR), several other PSR controllers may also be suitable:  UCC2870x, UCC2871x, and UCC28730.  These provide +/-5% voltage regulation.

    If tighter regulation is required, secondary-side regulation (such as with TL431) and opto-coupled feedback devices are: UCC28740, LM5023, LM5021,and UCC28780.

  • Hi Ulrich,

      Very appreciated.
