Hello Kevin,

The bq28z610 and bq28z610-r1 should function the same, the R1 has fixed a I2C timeout bug on the hardware. The production process is the same for both chips.

Hello Kevin,

If the conditions are never met as described in the change list, it should be the same functionality in both gauges. We always recommend using the newest gauge if possible.

From the change list:

Hardware reset of the I 2C engine when a bus low signal occurs. A bus low signal is generated when the I 2C clock line is low for bus low timeout.
