TPS92520EVM-074: 5VDC pin

Part Number: TPS92520EVM-074

Hi team,

I have a inquiry about TPS92520EVM-074.

I measured a value of voltage at 5VDC pin connected with LMR16006Y-Q1. The value of voltage may be 0.2V.

I have already connected pin1 and pin2 of J3.

Is there any requirements to get 5VDC?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Kevin Shin

  • Hello Kevin,

Are you running the GUI?  The GUI communicates with the Launchpad to enable the 5V supply.

  • Hi fhoude,

Yes, I am running the GUI. I connected pin 1 and pin 2 of J3 in EVM board. Its voltage was 3.3V. Is that right?

Do I have to change pin select of MCU launch pad?

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Kevin,

Did you check to see if the nSHUTDOWN pin of U6 is high when the GUI is turned on?  and if so then TP7 should be 5V.  If you don't have 5V then the part will not be able to communicate.  At that point you need to debug the 5V regulator.  If you want we can take this offline and do a webex to debug the setup.  E2E isn't the most efficient way to debug a board.  Please review the EVM user's guide to make sure you didn't miss a step.  Keep in mind the firmware for the Launchpad need to be installed.   Make sure that got done properly and see if you can verify the firmware revision.

to setup offline communications just press the +Connect button after selecting my profile.  Then I can accept the connections and send my email address to setup the webex.
