LM5170-Q1: gate drive modifications

Part Number: LM5170-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1205, LM5170

Dear experts,

I have a question regarding the built in LO1 and HO1 drivers.  The drivers are powered by VCC.  In my case this is 12V.  I want to use gan fets for this and the only impediment I see is that the gate drive voltage is not allowed to exceed 6V (and ideally they will drive at 5V.  If I wanted to reduce the output voltage of the gate pulses without affecting the drive current, can Zener diode be used in series with the gate to reduce the voltage? in addition I can put a Zener clamp at 5V from G-S.

In its current form, the LO1 and HO1 would be expected to be close to 12V.

could I create a floating 5V supply to SW1 and HB1? but I still cant think of a solution for the LO1.  Also, I believe there is a UV limit on here in some modes? can this be bypassed?

some guidance here would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Atish
