LM3478: 3Volt to 48Volt Boost Converter Design with 3.5 Amp Output Current

Hi

I am working in a boost regulator circuit for Liion Battery and my requirment is 3.5A Current with 48V Output voltage and the input voltage range is 3V-4.2V.

As per datasheet it can be possible using LM3478 but When I am trying to design using Web bench power desing it is not able to design.

I am a Embedded Developer and very new to power supply design. I have read all the datasheet and struggling to design this boost regulator from last month, Please provide some example design or if you can suggest any design for my requirments that will be a great help.

    Thanks for reaching out with your question and for considering the LM3478 in your design.

    A single stage boost converter is not going to be able to achieve this design as the ratio between VOUT and VIN is 16. Also the power level is pretty large at 168W.  A better solution is to implement a two stage boost converter. One stage could boost from 3V to 12V. Then a second stage could boost from 12V to 48V.

    What is the application for this circuit? I have not seen specifications similar to this before.
