BQ4050: VQFN package in documentation and in reality

Part Number: BQ4050
Hello.
The documentation states:

I have two bq4050 chips..

The first:

And the second:

As you can see from the photos, the first microcircuit corresponds to the data from the documentation,

and the second microcircuit does not.

Please tell me if this discrepancy in the second microcircuit is acceptable or is it a manufacturing defect?

And one more question:

On the TI website, in the Part marking lookup section with radio button set to "Marking on the part", I try to find both microcircuits by marking

(the first one: TI 651 ATX2, the second: TI 9B8 AGJN), but how can I not tried, the result is always negative.

Why?

  • Hello Mihon,

It looks like a manufacturing defect, I am not sure if this is in the range of error for manufacturing. Have you found this on multiple chips or batches?

I'm not familiar with this look-up tool, but the part should have the BQ4050 printed on it as well, which tells the part you are using right away.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
