UCC28070: UCC28070 Soft-Start

Part Number: UCC28070

In the process of using UCC28070, it is found that if the current limit value is exceeded before startup (if the current limit value is not exceeded, there will be no such missing), the duty cycle of about 100US will be missing when startup, and soft start will be restarted.

  • Hello,

The peak current limit in the UCC28070 is to keep the boost switches off during inrush.  Please also make sure that you have a bypass diode across the boost stages to ensure the inrush current does not go through the boost inductors.  This will prevent the output from ringing to twice the input voltage.  I would also suggest adding an NTC to limit the current.

If you do not have the NTC and bypass diode please add it and retest to see if the issue goes away?

    Regards,
