Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27426
Hey all,
during testing BQ27426 with an connected RICOH R5443Z207PH (Protection IC) some failure was occurring that we didn't expect.
If we connected the Fuel Gauge with the Protection IC and battery, the Protection IC was blocking the battery. We did this several times but same failure occurs.
After a discussion with Ricoh we discoverd that the RICOH Chip is blocking the battery cause of an detected short circuit.
The specification of short circuit detection are:
Time: 210µs - 350µs
Vshort: 0.040V by an 10 ohm Rsense = 4mA
Please see the following picture.
For investigation we connected a 10 Ohm resistor between + output of Protection IC and + input of Fuel Gauge and monitored this resistor with an oscilloscope (1 probe at output of Protection IC and 1 probe + input of Fuel Gauge).
If we connected these Chips together we discovered some current peaks (please see attachment). For some reason the Protection IC is blocking the track after 500µs but this time belongs to no detection reason.
Thank you so much.
Regards
Sebastian
