BQ28Z610: removable battery system problem

Hi,
I want to ask question about the removable battery system in BQStudio with bq28z610. 

I use Li-Ion Battery NCR18650 (3400mAh) 2 Cell configuration.  Does it need to be woken up using WAKE switch, in this case shorting Cell 2 pin and PACK+ pin? If do so can you tell why? (according to the EVM schematic)

Is there any solution if batteries are replaced, no need to wake up the system again using 1k ohm shorting these 2 pins (PACK+ and cell 2) ?
