BQ21061: Detect if in ship mode

Hi. Is there any way(s) to detect if the device is in ship mode or not, by probing one of the pins?

I know no output is operational in ship mode. But is there some output that I can use that has a defined state, and/or that I can set?

Could I perhaps use the LDO output, or the PG pin, or the VDD pin? E g the VDD pin I know from §7.4 is active in all modes but ship mode, and the PG I can control freely. But I don't know the state of these pins in ship mode: Are they high impedance, or grounded, or undefined?

Hello,

You can use VDD pin. VDD is always on when the device is active and always off when the device is in shipmode.

Thanks. Can I assume VDD is zero when off (or what max value)? Do I need to add a small dummy load from VDD to GND to make sure it is ~zero? (I can't afford to have a low resistance but maybe 1 Mohm.) Temperature 0 to 50degC.

I can measure these things on the evaluation module but it is better to have your response.

Hello,

VDD is used to power the internal circuitry so there's no need to add additional load on the pin. When the device enters shipmode, VDD will go to zero.
