BQ25601 OTG Charging current setting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25601

Hi TI ser,

We have a project using your company’s BQ25601RTWR chip. When debugging the OTG charging current, the charging current cannot be controlled. Please give us guidance.
——The test data is: OTG has 5.2V output. When the software writes BOOST_LIM to 0 or 1, the measured charging current is only 140mA instead of 0.5A and 1.2A.
  • Hi,

What are your test conditions such as VBUS (voltage at VBUS pin), IVBUS (actual OTG load), VBAT (voltage at BAT pin), IBAT, VSYS, ISYS? Could you please provide all register values of the charger when OTG load current is 140mA?

    Thanks,

    Ning.

  • Hi TI sir,

OTG test, the circuit connection is as follows:
After the software writes “AT*DEBUG=BQ25601,W,0x01,0x3A”, the electrical parameters and register values output by OTG are shown in the figure below:
  • Hi,

For debugging purpose, please use resistive load at VBUS pin as OTG load. Please measure VBUS (voltage at VBUS pin) and  VBAT (voltage at BAT pin), use sensing resistor to measure the IVBUS current instead of inserting multi-meter. Please try OTG mode again and see if it works normally.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
