TPS2HB50-Q1: EMC and internal clocks

Part Number: TPS2HB50-Q1

I have a non-automotive high side switching at 4.5V that will benefit from the protections in this part.

EMC is critical and the client has asked whether the device:

- has a charge pump in the FET driver or if the switch is a P-FET ?

- the stateful behaviour (7 retries counter etc) driven by an oscillator or is it clocked by the events (Ilim etc) ?

Also, if a charge pump or osc is present, what is the frequency that these typically operate at ?

The fact that there are clocks at all means I have a "robust discussion" ahead :-)

but the features on this part are too useful for our application not to test the part in our prototypes.

Hello Harry,

The TPS2HB50-Q1 has a dithered charge pump with a switching frequency of 5.5MHz. The charge pump has dithering enabled so this will mitigate the intensity of the EMC concerns. We have a more comprehensive report that I am working on getting and will follow up with you in the next couple of days when I get it.
