Hi,
I am designing a board with TPS65950 and DM3730. I am only using a limited set of features so I am leaving a whole bunch of pins unconnected.
The TPS65950 has several internal LDO regulators. Generally speaking it seems like we have to put a 1uF capacitor at the INPUT and OUTPUT of every LDO we are actually using. I understand that an unused LDO does not require any capacitor but that it should have its input connected to VBAT and its output floating.
Below is the list of every regulator I am using. Each of them has 1uF at the input and 1uF at the output:
USED> VAUX1, VAUX2, VPLL1, VPLL2, VMMC1
Then here is the list of the unused LDOs (no capacitor at input nor output):
UNUSED> VAUX3, VAUX4, VMMC2, VSIM, VINTUSB1P5, VINTUSB1P8, VDAC
The regulators below are not used externally but I still put a 1uF output capacitor to be in concordance with schematics checklist:
VRTC,VINTDIG, VINTANA1, VINTANA2, VUSB_3P1
I am not using USB nor TV output.
I am mainly using 4-bit MMC, CAM port, GPMC and some GPIOs.
Can anyone confirm that I am not leaving a crucial power behind? Is it OK to leave all those LDO outputs floating?
Thanks,
Yannick.
