Hello TI,

I am a student in Germany. Thanks for helping me till now. I need one more advice.

I know that BQ40Z50 has inbuilt Impedance measurement algorithm. But I wanted to measure the impedance with a Omicron lab device known as Bode 100. Is it safe to connect a Bode 100 (along with Picotest which gives voltage signals of varying frequency sweep) to my BQ40Z50-R2 ?

Can you please verify from other projects which used Bode 100 also?

They have given the circuit diagram on page no. 7 I just wanna know if its OK to connect pack + and pack - or the cell directly to the Bode 100

I figured out how to connect.

I have a different question to you.

In my WATCH area in the bq studio software, the charge capacity is shown as 0 always and Cell1 Ra scale is 1000. What is the meaning of Ra scale of 1000 always? Cell 1 compres is zero always. Why is my board not reading the values. The cell is currently discharging. It will charge when voltage will be 3500 mV But problem is with the data aquisition now.

So many tabs that I have added are simply showing 0.

Relative state of charge is 100 percent

I am attaching screenshots please see them. State of health is also zero. I wanted to see the impedance in the WATCH list. Please help

My circuit is working well. It is switching well to charging and discharging automatically. BUT data is the problem

RaScaling is used for fast scaling function, it would scale the Ra by RaScaling/1000 when the discharging is approaching to the terminate voltage when fast scaling function is enabled. Normally, if fast scaling is not enabled, this value would always be 1000, for room temperature test, you can disable this function.

For how to used this device, you can reference the document slua421a.pdf on TI website, although this is for older generation gauge, but the basic steps are the same. Please review this document first so as to get an overview on the basic steps needed to have a gauge working properly as expected
