TPS2065: Current not limited in 1A

Part Number: TPS2065

Hi Team,

We've used TPS2065DGN in our Camera project for USB OTG port.

As we were testing the current limit and over current detection feature, w noted the following.

We connected a rheostat test load with 7ohm maximum.

Current not limited even when the resistive test load drove 1.8A from the load switch.

The OC# pin was probed during all these time and it was at 3.3V state.

As per the datasheet, the current limit is at 1A. Why is ithis behaviour.

Please check the schematics below.

  • Hi George,

Please confirm the IC is not damaged.

What's the value of the input cap?

Please add 10uF+0.1uF cap at input terminal.

Change another IC and try again.

For TI's policy, I will first click resolved button.

If you have any other concern, contact me any time.

If you think resolved, please help click 'Issue is solved button'.

    Thanks.
