Hello,

I am involved in the design of an high gain guitar preamp. The opamp must be supplied with a dual voltage +-10V coming from 12-18V DC.

Because of the high gain involved the noise issue needs to be dealt with great care, so I need your support in order to find the best solution in terms of noise.

Hi,

I suggest you can use a flybuck topology to generate two output rails, you can have a look on LM5160.

Thank you for your swift reply.

Is there any reason preferring having a buck ( whose design is somehow more expensive) over a chargepump + LDO for the negative rail?

My current target is around 100-150mA.

Do you believe that each stage needs to be separated with a Pi filtering? I got a massive gain ( 30-70db), so I need to manage noise very carefully.

Hi,

If your main concern is noise, maybe you should consider using LDO solution, I am adding LDO team in your thread.
