BQ76940: What's the accuracy for the die temperature measurement for BQ76940?

Part Number: BQ76940

HI Team,

I haven't find any error data on the die temperature measurement.

Could you pls help?

BR,

Ted Zhang

  • Hi Ted,

The temperature measurement accuracy is dependent on multiple factors:

    • The resistance of the thermistor with respect to temperature
    • The voltage of the internal 3.3V LDO used to bias the thermistor circuit
    • The resistance of the internal pullup resistor
    • The reference voltage and performance of the ADC

So it depends on the battery monitor and the thermistor, so these must be analyzed together. The pullup resistor value range is covered in the datasheet. The ADC voltage was tested over temperature and the max sigma of the reported voltage and the actual forced voltage was 1.57mV across 25C to 85C. The LDO voltage does vary slightly across temperature (this can be measured on the CAP1 pin).

    Best regards,

    Matt
