A customer of mine would like to know the purpose of the RT/CT transistor on figure 25 of the UCx84x datasheet.

    Hi Franz! 

    Thanks so much for getting in touch and for your customer's interest in the UC2842! The transistor pictured in Figure 25 connected between RT and CT is used for slope compensation. Take a look at Section 8.3.9 of the UCC28C42 datasheet (a newer version of this device with pin-to-pin compatibility), it elaborates on the transistor's purpose, see below:
