BQ51050B: Charging current for small capacity LiPo battery (200mA ~ 300mA)

Dear Sir/Madam,

My customer considers using BQ51050B because it has Qi receiver and charger function.

But I am concerned about charging current.

The minimum charging current is 500mA in datasheet, the battery in product will be 200mA or 300mA LiPo, the customer wants to set the charging current to 0.9C. Is there any way to set charging current to under 200mA or 300mA?

Or could you recommend another part which has Qi receiver and charger function and can set charging current to under 200mA or 300mA?

Hi YY,

The BQ51050B can support a lower charge current with reduced accuracy for current regulation and terminations current. Current regulation in the 200mA to 300mA range is OK. But termination below 30mA is difficult due to higher degradation in accuracy. This is our only solution with integrated RX + charger.

Hi,

I have the same problem, as I want to use a 200 mAh Li-Po battery and charge it at around 130 mA. May I ask if used the BQ510050B or you have adopted another solution?

The same cautions will apply. Charge termination should be set above 30mA and charge accuracy at 130mA will be lower.
