I have design a board wich implies also a boost power stage, that raises from 24Vdc to 42Vdc. I first generated the schematic with Webench tool and after I build up my schematic following the same schematic. The changes that I have done are:
- Inductor from 4.7uH to 5.6uH
- Feedback resistors
- Css to 3,3nF (in the schematics is placed a 100nF but I changed it to be much more compatible with webench).
Enable is drived by a FPGA with a 3.3V signal. Power good is drived to the FPGA for checking status.
What I see is that without load the regulator works. When I attach a load, also small (ie 540 Ohm), the regulator stops to work correctly and the voltage drops down.
What I checked is that the frequency, during the small periods when the transistors are drived, seems to be right to about 1 MHz like the design.
What could be the issue?
