bq76PL536 for use with a123 Systems 26650 battery

We are building a Formula Hybrid racecar.  We will use 144 volts with 5 rows of the 26650 lithium ion battery manufactured by a123 Systems.  This battery has 2.3 A-hr capacity and can deliver 120 amps intermittent with 70 amps continuous.  It would like 3 amps for a standard charge and can take 10 amps for a fast charge.

Will the 536 shunt enough current to properly balance this battery, or should I use an external transistor?

We are considering just using the EVM-3 instead of building our own boards for now.  Any suggestions from someone that has used this chip would be very welcome.
