UCC27282: Pullup and pulldown resistance value of the output section

Part Number: UCC27282

Hello team,

Could you please help me to understand the internal structure of the output section of UCC27282?

The datasheet specifies pulldown resistors on each input pin to make input pin LOW as a default.

My questions are,

- Please see the DS below. What does it mean 'pullup and pulldown resistance of the driver resistance of the driver output section', 4Ohm as noted in DS. is there pullup/down resistor in output section as well as in input section?

- Or does it mean resistance of output buffer in Driver Stage with CMOS logic?

Thank you.

  • Minkyung,

Please refer to electrical characteristics table below for pullup/down resistance.

where Rgd pullup on LO driver = (maximum high level output voltage) 0.42V / 100mA = 4.2-Ohms

and Rgd pulldown on LO driver = (maximum low level output voltage) 0.4V / 100mA = 4-Ohms.

You do similar process for HO driver on the high-side.

What you're highlighting in the block diagram is the input stage pulldown resistors HI and LI which are not associated with power dissipation calculations.

    Regards,

    -Mamadou

  • Hi Mamadou, is it applied only for several devices in half-bridge devices? Or does it apply to all gate driver devices' output stage, such as low side driver? Should I consider those output resistance when I calculate power consumption of all gate driver ICs? Thanks!

  • HI Minkyung,

Yes this applicable to any gate driver including low-side drivers.

    Regards,

    -Mamadou
