BQ76952EVM: How to Reset the communication mode from SPI to I2C using Arduino or BQStudio

Part Number: BQ76952EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

I have a bq76952 EVM module and I have been trying to change communication mode of BQ76952 using BQ Studio. I was successfully able to change from I2C to SPI, but now I am unable to communicate. Is there any way to reset the communication mode setting using BQStudio, or should I use any controller over SPI to reconfigure it back?

Can you please share the code. I have Arduino and Nucleo Board?

Regards,

Modi

  • Hi Modi,

Did you use OTP to permanently set the device in SPI mode or did you just change in the RAM registers? If you did not program OTP, you just need to send the Reset command (or cycle power) on the BQ76952 IC to return it to its default settings (I2C).

    Best regards,

    Matt
