TPS22919: Current transient throught the load switch

Part Number: TPS22919

Hello,

I am designing a PCB for a litle robot for consumer entertainement.

I want to use a load switch to disconnect an hungry load in order to minimise power consumption. This load is connected to same supply rail as my motors (with drivers).

Throught the load switch will sink the hungry load (constant current) and the quick transient of motor driver (1.5A for 300ms with high slope).

My question: Is the load switch able to handle quick current draw ? Is there any limitation ? recommandation ?

Thanks you,

yours sincerely,

Victor

    Victor,

I am a little unclear about your setup, could you try to show a quick sketch about your design with the load switch?

The TPS22919 has built-in rise-time control, depending on your design it may make impact. COuld you please share?

TPS22919 should be able to handle quick transient of 1.5A when the device is on as that will not trip short-circuit protection.

    Best
