TPS62088: How to measure stability in time domain?

Hi,

Could you please tell me how to measure stability of TPS62088 in time domain?

From the load transient simulation waveform below, it might not be possible to measure its stability from time domain.

Hi Tony,

You can use the transient load waveform to give you a ball park on the phase margin. See attached app note for your reference.

It would be better to use the transient response based on the pspice model instead of Webench model for loop stability analysis.

Hi Excel,

from first two attached load transient simulation waveforms,

TPS54620 load transient waveform has a clear output curve, so we can see rings, but TPS60288 don't have a clear output waveform, we can't see rings.

without seeing rings, How can we estimate phase margin?

You can use the Pspice model to have a clearer the transient response waveform. Please download the model in the link below.
