TPS62088: TPS62088 PSPICE simulation model

Part Number: TPS62088
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1H100B-Q1, TPS54620

Hi,

I can only find transient model for TPS62088 in the website. is it possible that I can simulate TPS62088 in frequency domain, like measure bode plot with the transient model?

if not, is there a way to get another frequency domain simulation model?

Thanks,

Tony

  • Hi Tony,

Unfortunately, the Pspice model cannot be used in bode plot measurement. We need to generate an equivalent SIMPLIS model for this part so you can use it for loop stability analysis but it will take 8 weeks normally. I can process the request if it fits your schedule.

By the way, what application you intend to use the device?

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Excel,

       Our products are storage controllers.

Yes, please request SIMPLIS model as we are going to continue to use TPS62088 in new designs.

Can I use  SIMPLIS model in "PSPICE for TI"  or need to use different software?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  • Hi Tony,

    Thanks for the info.

You can only use the Pspice model (available in TI website) in "PSPICE for TI" and not in SIMPLIS.

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Excel,

      Thanks,

  • Hi Excel,

I downloaded TPS60288 transient Pspice model file from TI website and run it with "PSPICE for TI", but I got below error message, Please tell me what I need to do to overcome this problem.

Please be patient. This may take several minutes...

  • Hi Excel,

I can use Cadence DECIS to simulate TPS60288 transient Pspice model file without errors.

I have another questions for you.

I am trying to set 5V input to 3.3V input. I have changed Vin's attribute from 5 to 3.3, like show below, but simulation results still show me 5V input.

can you tell me how I can change input voltage value?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  • Hi Tony,

Did you try to click the "Apply" button before initiating the new simulation?

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Excel,

       Yes, I did.

I also tried on TPS54620 transient model, it works.

        but TPS62088 model doesn't work.

    Thanks,

    Tony

  • Hi Tony,

Can you show the simulation waveform and schematic diagram after changing the VIN to 3.3V? Because I did the changes as well and it works fine. See figure below.

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Excel,

I just tried. the problem was solved.

    Thanks,

    Tony
